The 2026 update retains the established Mercian Elite legguard shape, with revised internal foam placement and updated internal construction. Designed for field hockey goalkeepers competing at the highest level, including Olympic and Pro League athletes, these legguards deliver outstanding protection, durability, comfort and performance.

Key Features:

• Professional-grade coverage. The legguards maximise the legal saving surface under FIH regulations, with extended calf protection for added coverage. The inner shape accommodates longer legs, while two adjustable straps secure the pad around the calf and knee.
• Advanced foam construction. Heat-bonded open-cell foam is formed under more than 1,000kg of pressure. This glue-free process helps prevent delamination and foam breakdown for long-lasting durability.
• High-rebound performance. The specialised foam construction provides responsive rebound characteristics to support fast, controlled clearances.
• Reduced friction and enhanced mobility. The outer foam skin minimises friction between the legguard and the pitch, supporting smoother sliding and smothering.
• Secure, custom fit. The thermo-reactive inner layer moulds to the shape of the leg during the first few weeks of use. Replaceable buckles and comfort pads help reduce twisting and improve stability.
